Python Job: Risk Model Engineer-Actuary

Are you a skilled risk modeler or actuary? In this role you will be responsible for developing and improving risk models which allow us to quantify the risks we face in our reinsurance contracts and use these models for risk reporting and analysis.

The job offers you a monthly salary of €5175 - €7393 (on a 36-hour basis), depending on your knowledge and experience.

Your impact as Risk Model Engineer at NN

The risk models you develop and run are essential tools in safeguarding the financial health of our company and consequently the financial security of our partner’s clients.

Your responsibilities

In this job you will be responsible for:

• Developing new insurance & business risk models and improving existing ones
• Risk capital (SCR) reporting
• Providing risk opinions on reinsurance, investment and hedge proposals

Who you are

You have a get-things-done mentality with an attention to quality and detail. You can develop adequate modelling solutions which pass the scrutiny of validators and regulators. You can effectively promote your work to internal stakeholders and meet any challenges raised. You work to achieve the team’s objectives with due diligence and within agreed timelines without losing a feel for the bigger picture. Furthermore you have for the position of Risk Model Engineer:

• A quantitative master’s degree
• Three to five years of experience in pricing or risk management
• Fluent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• A basic knowledge of Solvency-II regulation and experienced with Excel (VBA), R or Python
• Good communication, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills

We help our customers optimize their risk profile, capital consumption and P&L volatility. Besides that, we manage various hedging books related to investment guarantees underwritten throughout NN Group.

Within NN Re the Financial Risk Management team is predominantly responsible for risk modelling and Solvency-II risk reporting. We further provide second line opinions on contract pricing, strategic asset allocations and hedge proposals.
